Drumstep is a fusion genre of drum and bass (DnB) and dubstep that emerged in the late 2000s and early 2010.
Characteristics[]
Songs of this genre are the same tempo as DnB songs. Some songs use more traditional dubstep rhythmic structures just sped up where as others copy more directly from DnB's rhythms. Many subgenres of dubstep (especially the new brostep ones) have drumstep variations as the genre is very versatile and can be applied to just about all subgenres of dubstep.
Examples of Drumstep[]
- Tristam: Flight (melodic drumstep and brostep)
- Roy Knox: Lost in Sound (melodic drumstep and brostep)
