Eurodance is an electronic music genre that emerged in the late 1980s and developed throughout the 1990s. It is a fusion of styles such as disco, house, hi-NRG, new beat and euro disco. Eurodance's distinctive features include fast rhythms, powerful bass, synthesizers and catchy backing vocals (often in English). The term “eurodance” was popularized in the 1990s, with groups such as 2 Unlimited, Snap!, Dr. Alban and Vengaboys, when eurodance was at its peak.
