High pass filter

A filter that filters out frequencies below the cutoff frequency.High pass filters are used in synthesizers mostly to make sounds “brighter” or “tinny”. High pass filters when set to extremes filter out the fundamental and lower harmonics that contribute to the sense of a sound’s pitch, leaving a cluster of high harmonics that may sound noisy, bell-like, or vague in pitch.
