Loefah

Peter Livingstone, professionnaly known as Loefah, born on September, 8 1980, originally from Croydon, where he was one of the pioneers of dubstep alongside Skream, Coki, Mala and Rusko. He's making his mark on the scene with a dark, minimal style, deep, pronounced bass and claustrophobic. His famous tracks include Mud and Disko Rekah.

Loefah is a member of the DMZ collective, alongside Mala and Coki, whose tracks have propelled him onto the international scene.

Towards the end of the 2000s, when dubstep began to become mainstream, Loefah distanced himself from it: he openly criticized the commercial evolution of the genre, which he considered too far removed from its roots.

In 2009, he created the “Swamp 81” label, which quickly became a landmark for hybrid music at the crossroads of bass music, techno, electro and UK Funky. Artists such as Addison Groove, Boddika, Pinch and Mickey Pearce released landmark tracks, helping to reshape London's post-dubstep scene.

Today, Loefah is considered a cult figure, respected for his radical artistic vision, his pioneering role in original dubstep, and his flair for spotting and promoting innovative sounds.
