New Jack Swing or Swingbeat is a hybrid of soul, funk, G-funk and hip-hop that emerged in the late 1980s. by American producer Teddy Riley (Blackstreet).
Unlike traditional rhythm and blues, new jack swing manifests itself in a more precise rhythm section - just like in the original hip-hop, borrowed from funk, but less syncopated, that is, with an almost even, clear rhythm. Soul chants are very often used in the style. The reading is usually soft. The content of the songs is lyrical or funky-positive.
