Rapstep is a hybrid subgenre that fuses elements of rap / hip hop and Dubstep.

Characteristics and Influences[]

It combines the lyrics and flows characteristic of Rap with the heavy basslines, powerful drops, and electronic sounds typical of Dubstep.

It has a Dubstep-influenced beat for its syncopated rhythms, often with alternating kick-snare patterns over a tempo around 140 BPM. Rapstep has the same characteristics, with wobble bass.

Rapstep can be a combination of Drumstep and Rap, where is the same thing as Dubstep, but at faster tempo, like in the song "Kyoto" from Skrillex and Sirah.
