Riddim, also known as swamp or trench, is a subgenre of dubstep that is more simplistic than other styles of dubstep. It focuses on a steady halftime four-on-the-floor beats, with a clap or short snare with a kick on the 3rd beat, instead of just a longer snare hit like in brostep or deathstep.

As this genre was very popular in the 2010s and was popularized by artists like Subtronics, riddim also has a whole host of sub-genres. Them being:
- Death Riddim: a more violent style of Riddim, inspired by Deathstep, but retaining the repetitive bass of Riddim.
- Deep Riddim: another Riddim style inspired by Deep Dubstep, but retaining the repetitive bass of the Riddim.
- Experimental Riddim: a more experimental sub-genre, using unconventional structures, having been influenced by IDM or Glitch.
- Future Riddim: Influenced by Future Bass, Future Riddim uses colorful, futuristic synths.
- Hybrid Riddim: A concept inspired by Hybrid Trap, Hybrid Riddim retains the rhythms, percussion, and bass of Riddim, with influences coming mainly from Bass Music genres.
- Liquid Riddim: Inspired by Liquid Dubstep, this is a softer genre of Riddim, focusing on nostalgic elements.
- Lo-Fi Riddim: a fusion of Lo-Fi and Riddim, this is a rather relaxing genre.
- Melodic Riddim: Inspired by Melodic Dubstep, it focuses more on video game sounds and not euphoric elements.
- Metal Riddim: A hybrid genre inspired by Metalstep, except that the genre retains the bass of Riddim.
- Wonky Riddim: A type of Riddim merged with Wonky, using funky bass.
