Themed Dubstep is an umbrella term for sub-genres of dubstep that explore dubstep (primarily brostep, deathstep, or riddim) with fusions of historical, environmental, cultural or sarcastics themes.

Animestep, also Kawaii Dubstep, is a variation of brostep that uses kawaii sound effects and samples from anime with brostep instrumentation.

The genre started out as a meme, but thanks to its popularity has become a genre in its own right.

Egyptian Dubstep, also Egypstep, is a themed dubstep based on Egyptian culture and history.

The genre combines the rhythm, percutions and powerful bass of dubstep, with Melodies and motifs inspired by traditional Arab or Oriental music.

It uses instruments such as the oud, the ney, or typical percussion instruments, a mood that's often dark, mysterious or cinematic, recalling ancient Egyptian imagery such as pyramids or temples.

Horrorstep is a style of Deathstep that focuses on a very horrific, terror atmosphere inspired by horror movies.

The genre is characterized by a dark ambience (squeaks, whispers, chain rattles, screams, or devilish laughter) , horrific themes and samples like haunted house or dark forest, powerful bassline and deep wobbles, powerful percussion and a Cinematic influence.

Although Horrorstep appeals to electronic music fans who appreciate dark, immersive themes, horror movie fans, as well as those seeking an intense, cinematic musical experience, it is nevertheless a niche genre, but remains a variant of dubstep that relies on macabre sounds and a spooky atmosphere to deliver a musical experience that is both terrifying and captivating.

Uwustep, also Kawaii Riddim, is a themed dubstep genre based on the kawaii culture from Japan.

Similar to animestep except instead of brostep it uses riddim with anime girl's vocals or kawaii sound. It is more cutsey than animestep.

Viking Riddim is a themed dubstep genre that combines Riddim with nordic culture inspired by vikings.

The genre combines the traditionnal percution (kick, clap, snare, hi-hats) and repetitives bass from riddim, with menacing vocals, traditionnals music instruments and a menacing atmosphere from viking culture.

The genre was pionnered by French dj named Samplifired, with its songs like Helheim (with Evlinoiz), Berserker, Harald, and many more.
